The Majority in Parliament has refuted claims by their Minority counterpart of secret recruitments of NPP thugs into the security services.

The Minority through its leader Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson and ranking member for the committee on Defence and Interior James Agalga alleged each NPP MP and parliamentary candidates have been allocated 30 slots for such recruitments.

They argued the move is to compromise the security services ahead of the December 7 elections.

But in a sharp rebuttal, Deputy Majority Leader Patricia Appiah-Agyei described the claims as baseless arguing the government does not have the financial capability to pay such huge numbers in the first place.

According to the Asokwa MP, the ongoing recruitment is clearing the backlog of past applicants.

Majority Chief Whip Frank Annoh-Dompreh on his part wondered whether the claims of the NDC MPs are born out of what the Mahama administration did while in power.
