The Ghana Education Service is urging calm among teachers handling candidates of this year’s Basic Education Certificate Exams following changes in the Exam Format.
This is the first time the BECE will be set based on the new standard based curriculum.
Some schools have complained about the late release of sample questions; the new additions to some sections of the Exams and the difference in question setting approaches.
Speaking to Starr News however, Municipal Education Director for Oforikrom Dorothy Opare Baidoo indicated that the service is rolling out a series of mock exams to prepare the candidates who will be writing their final exams early July.
The Education Director wants parents to ensure that the BECE Candidates, most of whom have begun skipping classes, to regularly be in school to apprise themselves of the new requirements.
