A driver who was injured and trapped in an Ashok Leyland truck following a collision with A DAF trailor at Suhum Star Oil on the Accra-Kumasi Highway has been rescued by officers of the Ghana National Fire Service.

The incident occurred Wednesday afternoon.

Using extrication tools, the crew rescued the injured driver, who was then transported to Suhum Government Hospital for treatment.

The driver and mate of the DAF trailer were unharmed.

The head of the Ashok Leyland truck was badly mangled while the rear of the DAF SF Trailer was partially damaged.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. The Suhum Fire Station’s quick response and effective action is highly commendable.
