Majority leader Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin has clarified the movement
of the chairman of the Finance Committee Kwaku Kwarteng to the economy committee is a promotion.
The Majority leader during the presentation of the business statement announced the changes.
The Minority argued the removal of the Obuasi West MP from the finance committee is as a result of his failure to see through the passage of the over $300 million tax waivers for some 1D1F companies.
The Effutu MP announced the former Deputy Finance Minister will now become the majority spokesperson on the Economy.
But clarifying his comments on the floor, Alexander Afenyo-Markin explained the caucus decided to reposition Mr. Kwarteng to articulate its position on economic matters.
Meanwhile the Leader of the Majority caucus has once again cautioned his side to be mindful of their criticisms of the nomination of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as running mate to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia citing how the NDC publicly united in support of the naming of Prof. Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang despite what he terms as reservations
