The Ghana Police Service has called on the public to disregard the false publications in the media claiming the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, has been asked to proceed on leave.

In a terse statement, the Police administration stated that such fake news should be treated with contempt that it deserves.

“The Inspector-General of Police remains committed to his patriotic duty of leading the Ghana Police Service as per the mandate given him by the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo”, the statement added.

POLICE REACT TO FAKE NEWS OF IGP’S REMOVAL

The attention of the Ghana Police Service has been drawn to some media reports suggesting that the Inspector-General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, has been asked to proceed on leave.

We would like to urge the public to disregard this fake news and treat same with the contempt it deserves.

The Inspector-General of Police remains committed to his patriotic duty of leading the Ghana Police Service as per the mandate given him by the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo.
