Two toddlers, a one-and-a-half-year-old girl and a one-month-old baby boy, met their untimely death after their building collapsed on them while their mother was bathing.
The tragic incident occurred at Gomoa Osamkrom in the Gomoa Central District of the Central Region.
Police sources report that the mother of the deceased, Sophia Arthur, was asleep after feeding them and stepped out to bathe.
Information gathered by Kasapa news reporter Yaw Boagyan revealed that their mother was bathing when she heard a loud sound. By the time she stepped out of the bathhouse, the building had collapsed on the children.
Some residents came around and helped the family members remove the blocks from the children.
The incident happened on the evening of Monday, June 1, 2024, around 9:30 PM.
The bodies of the toddlers have been taken to the Agona Swedru Government Hospital mortuary while investigations are ongoing.
