The Twifo Praso District Police Command, led by Superintendent Charles Addae-Boateng, has arrested the Twifo Praso Senior High School Prefect, identified as Livingstone, and another student in connection with the death of 25-year-old spiritualist Abdul Latif.

The suspects, currently in police custody, allegedly gang-beaten Latif to death after he revealed that Livingstone, the school prefect stole his school son’s phone.

According to reports, around 8 PM on Thursday August 22,2024 the suspects and about 10 other colleagues ambushed Latif, subjecting him to severe beatings until he died.

Information gathered by Kasapa news Yaw Boagyan revealed that the students mistook the spiritualist as a thief in the school Premises.

They then dragged his body into a bush and covered it with weeds. Police recovered the body and have since deposited it at the Twifo Praso Government Hospital Mortuary for autopsy and preservation.

The incident sparked outrage among youth in the Twifo Praso Zongo, who planned to storm the school campus for revenge.

However, timely police intervention prevented further violence.

Reinforcement from the Central North Regional Police Command was deployed to maintain order and ensure peace in the area.

In an interview, the deceased’s father, Yaw Nkrumah, shared the ordeal of the family seeking justice for his son.

Meanwhile, the body has been deposited at the Twifo Praso Government Hospital Mortuary for autopsy and preservation.
