Security expert, Dr. Adam Bonaa has launched a scathing attack on outgoing president, Nana Akufo-Addo, saying he wished he would not be recognised as a former head of state.
Dr. Bonaa said the president, much to the dismay of many Ghanaians, had performed abysmally during his two terms in office and deserved no such honour.
During a submission on EIB Network’s post-election coverage, the analyst said Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as ‘A Plus’ was justified in his frequent cricitisms of President Akufo-Addo.
He asserted on the show that most people who had badly wanted President Akufo-Addo to win had really regretted it.
“I would wish wish that Nana Addo’s name would be expunged from the ex-president’s list because he masterminded some of the gargantuan corruptions of all time, selling all our state lands from Hamile to Teshie,” Dr. Bonaa averred.
He said his wish for the president highlighted his utmost displeasure with his administration and failure to tackle head-on with pressing issues.
Addressing the outcome of some parliamentary elections, he indicated that the president’s allies who lost were a testament to the public’s disapproval of the mismanagement and mess on which the NPP had supervised while in office.
Some of the president’s close allies that have been unsuccessful in their bid to enter parliament include the New Patriotic Party’s parliamentary candidates for Ablekuma Central, Awutu Senya West and Asuogyaman constituencies, Jefferson Sackey, Eugene Arhin and Pius Hadzide respectively.
More than a dozen ministers of state have also lost their seats as well.
Dr. Bonaa held that he did not hold such disdain for all the country’s former leaders. He asked: “Can you say the same of President Kufuor?”
