Following the statement issued by the Electoral Commission(EC) that re-collation is not something new, former director of CARE Ghana, David Kumi says that the EC behaves like God

According to him,the EC does not take advice, welcome corrections and thinks every action it takes is correct

“Whatever the EC is saying doesn’t make sense because you were the same person who said the country no longer practice re-declaration and re-collation thus any candidate who feels cheated should go to court and you come back to say and do otherwise then there is no sense in any of her actions “he stated

The ex-director also demanded that the EC grant the people of Ghana with some wisdom and not insult their intelligence

“You have done something and it has gone wayward, instead of you to tell us something we are willing to hear and take needed actions, you are doing what will please you
What are you trying to tell Ghanaians??” He inquired

He continued that, the independence given to the EC by the constitution is what is making them misbehave

“What ever so say or suggest they either take it or leave it weather good or bad.

We advised that lots of people are yet to receive their Ghana Cards so the idea of it being the only means to vote should not be considered but the EC chose to once again do what it pleases “ he added

Following the delay release of the 2024 West Africa Examination Certificate(WAEC) results, the spokesperson for WAEC, John Kapi,in an interview with Kasapa FM has disclosed reasons for the delay

According to John, the government has truly given 25 million cedis out of the 118 million which they have used to settle those in charge of repairing the damaged machines

“ They have fixed some and are still looking for the parts of the machines which have been damaged to buy so that we can have adequate machines to speed up with the work to aid us release the results on the said date which is 29th December

We still await the government to release the rest so that we can pay for the damaged parts when we finally get some to buy” he said

The spokesperson continued that they are not demanding all the money but the government should at least add 35 million to the 25 million because that is the estimate for fixing the machines

“Getting that additional 35 million will go a long way else the 29th will get there and students will not receive their results as promised by the education minister “ he said

John Kapi further said that no country finishes exams before paying examiners hence they have been patient enough

“The government has been indebted to us since 2020 which has gradually piled up to this level so without the money there is nothing we can do” he stated
