The Majority Leader, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has announced that all four independent Members of Parliament (MPs) have expressed their intention to caucus with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Parliament.

The MPs in question are Kwame Asare Obeng (MP for Gomoa Central), Ohene Kwame Frimpong (MP for Asante Akim North), Nandaya Yaw Stanley (MP for Wulensi), and Worlasi Kpeli (MP for Afram Plains North).

Speaking on the floor of Parliament on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, Dr. Forson revealed that while all four MPs had shown interest, only Kwame Asare Obeng, the MP for Gomoa Central, has officially submitted a letter to the party confirming his intent to join the NDC caucus.

He said, “Currently, we have received letters from all four of them. So, Mr. Speaker, we’ll wait for them to officially write to you.

“Mr. Speaker, my attention [has been drawn to the fact] that so far, the MP for Gomoa Central has written to us, but the rest are yet to write officially to confirm their positions,” he added.
