The national Parents, Teacher Association (PTA) council PRO , Felicity Ahafianyor has expressed concerns that the major challenge of the Free SHS is the quality and quantity of food given the students.
Speaking to Akua Oteng Amponsah on kasapa fm she elaborated some schools don’t get food supplies at all while others who get the quality is questionable.
” Some schools don’t have , some have but it small and some too the quality is a challenge “.
She continued that parents should be able to give food to thier wards as they going to school because of these circumstances.
She added that NCPTA members are out to verify if what CHASS is saying is true and some feedback they are getting is in line for what CHASS is saying.
” Some have reported back , some have shortage of food supplies, others don’t have floor, sugar, rice and so fort so we are putting our heads together and see what we can do to support but before that we hope the Ghana Education service should do the supply”.
She added that PTA involvement in the schools even though dissolved in the previous government has always been working but not in the open.
” We were still existing we were still working because without it the Free SHS policy would have collapsed a long time ago. We helped the schools in our small ways by providing furnitures , beds, food. We will continue to help even in the new government because at the end the child benefits the society”.
