Parliament’s Appointments Committee is currently vetting President John Dramani Mahama’s first three ministerial nominees today, Monday, January 13, 2025.

The nominees include Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, who has been nominated as Minister for Finance Designate.

As a seasoned economist and chartered accountant, he’s expected to strengthen Ghana’s financial management and lead vital fiscal reforms.

Dr. Forson will be the first to be vetted, followed by John Abdulai Jinapor, who has been nominated as Minister for Energy Designate.

With his experience in energy economics and finance, he’s poised to address Ghana’s energy challenges, including unreliable power supply and energy sector debt.

Lastly, Dr. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine, who has been nominated as Attorney-General and Minister for Justice Designate, will face the Appointments Committee.

As a seasoned legal practitioner and academic, he’s expected to play a pivotal role in promoting the rule of law, addressing legal reforms, and ensuring justice for all Ghanaians.

The vetting process is a constitutional requirement, and the Appointments Committee was constituted on January 9, 2025.
