Teachers in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District of the Central Region have appealed to newly Education Minister Designate and the NDC government not to cancel stem education policy for it’s really benefitting the Ghanain student but rather improve and put more resources to enrich it.
Lectures,Tutors, and Teachers in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District wants the government and the newly appointed Education Minister to make STEM education on one of his priorities to make it interested for Ghanaians students in the Senior and Basic Education.
Speaking to Ghone News Yaw Boagyan,Dr. Benjamin Aboagye, a lecture of the University Of Cape Coast and also Branch President of Ghana Sciences Association stressed that that,STEM education is being introduced by the NDC government 2015 before leaving power and being implemented by the Nana Akuffo Addo’s Led government so they appealing to the newly appointed Minister of Education to not to discontinue the STEM EDUCATION but continues it to it’s fullest as it was done by the NPP government.
According to him,he wants STEM EDUCATION to extend to the Basic Schools with more infrastructure to promote the policy.
On behalfof the Ajumako EnyanEssiamEducationDirector Madam Sabina Aba Wilson,the STEM EDUCATION Coordinator for Ajumako Enyan Essiam District Mr.Kofi Agbochi Mawuena during the 2025 STEM EDUCATION Workshops for Science Educators in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District of the Central Region organised by the Ajumako Enyan Essiam Education Directorate also appealed to the government to extend support the Directorate with materials for the they are lacking teaching and learning materials that will help them to teach the STEM properly.
According to him,STEM education is not all that bad in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District, but most of the teachers and the learners have not ideal and have not seen some the tools and equipment before.
He said,for the government to improve STEM Education,they will need Teaching and learning materials in the STEM EDUCATION schools for they are lacking them.
Lastly,Science Teachers in Basic Schools in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District also expressed their graduates to the STEM EDUCATION Facilitators for teaching them more insight in the STEM education.
They promised to impact the knowledge they have acquired during the workshop to their schools.
They appeal to the newly appointed Education Minister to support the school with teaching and learning materials and infrastructure as well as STEM EDUCATION is concern.
