A 40-year-old disabled person has been lynched in Edumadze, a community within Mankessim in the Mfantseman Municipality of the Central Region.

Information gathered by Ghone News Yaw Boagyan revealed that the deceased Joseph Acquah, popularly known as Akwesi, was suspected of allegedly stealing an amplifier used in a spinning machine during a funeral on Saturday, February 9, 2024, throughout the day.

The report indicates that Akwesi left the house around 7:00 AM Saturday and never returned home, only for the family members to hear his death.

Speaking to Ghone News, Yaw Boagyan, the mother of the deceased Ama Bentsiwa said, she has never seen her child stealing because he is a disabled person and suspected somebody intentionally killed him and put the amplifier beside him to make people suspect he is a thief.

They suspect he stole the amplifier from a funeral grounds when the funeral came to an end.

Inspecting the body was found; he tied his legs and hands with a rope with blood on his body, lying lifeless on a school field.

Residents woke up on Sunday, February 9, 2025, in the morning only to see the deceased body with an amplifier beside him.

Police were called and deposited the body at the Saltpond government hospital mortuary for autopsy and preservation.

As of the time of filling out this report, the owner of the amplifier has not been found.

Meanwhile, no arrest has been made.

The case has been reported to the Mankessim Police for investigation

Meanwhile, the deceased mother is calling for justice for her son.
