The Central Regional Minister, Hon. Ekow Panyin Okyere Eduamoah, has implored some newly confirmed DCEs to build a strong relationship with the traditional authorities in their Districts to drive development.

During his visit to oversee the MMDCE confirmation process, Minister Eduamoah highlighted that a District Chief Executive’s success is heavily reliant on the support and collaboration of local chiefs.

He believes that with unity and a shared vision, the district can effectively harness its resources for meaningful progress.

According to the districts in the Central Region, notably, the Assin South is very deprived and has lacked in development

Hence, there is a need for the new DCEs to collaborate with chiefs for development.

According to the regional minister, the Assin South District has an NPP member of Parliament who was a deputy minister of education yet lacks educational development to the extent that most of the pupils study under trees and with inadequate teachers.

He said Hon. Rev. John Ntim Fordjour has been a Member of Parliament for the Assin South Constituency for over eight years and a deputy Minister of Education, yet nothing better went on in the district, which shows the Assin South Constituency was totally rejected under Nana Akuffo Addo’s Led New Patriotic Party.

He assures the chiefs, elders, and residents from the Assin South District that he will seek to that the Assin South Constituency has developed interm of development under the John Dramani Mahama’s and the National Democratic Congress administration.

In his acceptance speech, the newly confirmed District Chief Executive for Assin South District Hon. Jonathan Birenkorang, in an interview with Ghone News Yaw Boagyan, expressed heartfelt gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for the trust placed in him

He committed to leveraging his expertise to align with the President’s development agenda, aiming to bring lasting improvements to the district.

He promised to complete all the unfinished and abandoned projects started in the NDC time and the once left by the NPP government.

He promised to introduce all the policies by the NDC in the Assin South District for job creation for the youth.

He then promised to collaborate with Chiefs in the Assin South District in decision-making for the betterment of the Assin South District.

Lately, on behalf of the chiefs in the Assin South District, Okofo Kodwo Bi Benti II, the chief of Assin Darman, also expressed his gratitude to the newly confirmed Assin South District Chief Executive and appealed to him for Assin South development.

According to the chief, Assin South has lacked in terms of development, and hence will advise the newly appointed District Chief Executive to make good use of the MP’s common funds in terms of allocation.

He appealed to the Member of Parliament for the Assin South Constituency, Hon. Rev.John Intem Fordjour, to seek development for the Assin South Constituency, for the constituency is lacking in terms of development.

Meanwhile, the district chief executive for the Assin South Constituency, after the successful vetting, has 100 per cent endorsement from all the assembly members in the Assin South District.

Whiles, Sylvester Amakye Nyarkoh also endorsed 10p per cent confirmation in the Assin North District.
