Former Member of Parliament for Buem, Hon. Daniel Kwesi Ashiamah, has urged the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to exercise restraint and avoid any hasty disciplinary action against the party’s Communications Officer, Sammy Gyamfi, over a recent controversy involving an alleged cash gift.

Speaking to the morning show host of Ghana Kasa on Kasapa 102.5 fm’s Sandra Akua Darkoa Koranteng popularly known as Akua Sonto, Mr. Ashiamah addressed a viral video in which Sammy Gyamfi is seen allegedly gifting some amount of Dollars to Evangelist Patricia Oduro, popularly known as Agraada. The incident has sparked widespread backlash and calls for action against the NDC executive.

However, Hon. Ashiamah cautioned the party against rushing to judgment. “You can’t allow someone to be set up and then sack him,” he said, appealing to the NDC hierarchy to show compassion. “It’s too soon to sack him.” He added

He also commented on reports that the Chief of Staff had summoned Sammy Gyamfi over the incident, calling for calm in handling the matter. “Agraada must possess some serious charm to influence Sammy Gyamfi. We are urging the Chief of Staff to stay calm regarding the situation,” he added.

The former MP emphasized that the controversy should serve as a learning moment for public officials and party representatives. “Sammy Gyamfi giving dollars to Agraada serves as a cautionary tale for all government appointees need to exercise greater caution,” he noted.
