Suspended 2nd Vice Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party(NPP), Sammy Crabbe says he still holds himself as an official of the party, describing his sanctions by the party as illegal.
“I shall proceed to court and seek a restraining order against any group of people or individual who try to step on my way in my line of duty. The decision cannot be allowed to stand. I still hold myself as the 2nd National Vice Chairman of the party,” he told Fiifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.3 FM.
He claimed “the so called National Executive Committee(NEC) of the party acted ultra vires, and do not have the locus to sit on such matter and take such decisions”
He fears the party allowing what he says are bunch of extremists controlling affairs within the party will stifle the growth of the NPP, and hence its interest to win the 2016 elections will be a flop.
For him his suspension did not come as a surprise to him, saying the writings on the wall were so clear that illegalities and subversion of the constitution was taking a centre stage.
“I said this earlier that they will bring some Gas to petition against me just as they did in the case of Chairman Afoko- I am not shocked at all” he added.
The NPP has suspended its General Secretary, Kwabena Agyepong and Second Vice Chairman, Sammy Crabbe indefinitely.
The suspension of the two officials comes after the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) crunch meeting at the party’s Headquarters Thursday.
Kwabena Agyepong and Sammy Crabbe have both joined Paul Afoko as national officers who have so far been suspended by the party in less than three months.
