The Chief of Staff has directed the Attorney General Marietta Brew Appiah-Oppong to review the controversial Gh¢3.6 million contract surrounding the spraying and re-branding of 116 Metro Mass Transit Buses.
In a letter dated December 17, 2015 Julius Debrah directed the Attorney General to “review the contract and the associated payments(s) and revert without fail with your findings to my office by close of day of 22nd December, 2015.”
The deal which has received huge public outcry was uncovered by Parliament, that government had made provision of GHC3, 649,000 for the re-branding of the buses meant for intra-city transportation.
The supposed amount was reportedly drawn from the Petroleum Funds for 2015.
Per the arrangement with Smarttys Management and Production, the company that handled the job, branding for each bus cost the nation GHC31.000.
