The Ghana Union of Traders Association(GUTA) has asked government to ensure strict adherence to the investment laws of the country to protect and cushion local businesses to support socio-economic growth in the country.

“Though we are not against competition, foreign traders have no right to infiltrate the retail business, especially in prime business locations,”

“We cannot sit down for others—foreigners—to bulldoze their way onto the retail market to rob the gains of local businesses,” President of the Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA), George Kweku-Ofori said at the end-of-year get-together of the Mobile Phones and Accessories Dealers Association (MPADA) in Accra.

The merry-making event brought together dealers of mobile phone and accessories to interact, network and find solutions to the challenges facing their operations.
