THE lover of ex-EastEnder Sian Blake has admitted killing her and their two children because she was terminally ill.
Police in Ghana, where Arthur Simpson-Kent is in custody, revealed: “He said the mum was going to die and it was better for them all to die together.”
The suspect also allegedly told cops he has “no regrets” over the killings.
He is said to have claimed following his arrest at a beach resort that he killed ex-EastEnders actress Sian because she was terminally ill with motor neurone disease.
Simpson-Kent fled Britain shortly before the bodies of Sian, 43, Zachary, eight, and Amon, four, were found buried in the back garden of the family home in Erith, South London.
He was paraded before the media in handcuffs yesterday.
He ignored questions as he sat in the corner of a room at Ghana’s CID headquarters for nearly an hour.
Simpson-Kent, 48, in the same grey T-shirt, jeans and flip flops he was wearing when arrested on Saturday, stared at the floor with his hands cuffed behind his back.
He was later escorted away to be interviewed by two British detectives.
Ghanaian Director General of CID Prosper Agblor suggested there would be no problem over returning Simpson-Kent swiftly to the UK.
He added: “Whether or not he has family ties in Ghana is not of any importance. Whether he’s Ghanaian or from the moon, he has committed a crime.”
But yesterday it emerged Scotland Yard has not yet made a formal extradition request despite having four detectives in the West African country.
It is also understood they have not issued a warrant for his arrest in London.
The Met has been criticised for letting Simpson-Kent flee.
Its handling of the case is being scrutinised by the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
Detective Chief Inspector Graeme Gwyn, of the Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command, said yesterday: “I’d like to pass on my extreme thanks to the Ghanaian police for their assistance.
“Due to ongoing legal proceedings I’m unable to provide further updates.”
Simpson-Kent was arrested in the resort of Busua as he sat eating a coconut.
Locals yesterday said he arrived shortly before Christmas claiming he wanted to start a new life in Ghana.
Comfort McLaren, owner of one of the hotels where Simpson-Kent stayed, said: “I asked him if he had kids, he wasn’t mentioning much about his family. He said ‘Yeah, ‘I have two kids’. He acted like they were still there.” – SUN
