Maxwell Kofi Jumah, a member of the New Patriotic Party(NPP) and a contestant in the Asokwa Constituency has been arrested by the Police for allegedly tearing Voters register album of the ongoing exercise.
The former Member of Parliament for the constituency, seeking re-election resorted to the act because of what he was said was unfair treatment by election officials.
One Nana Kwame who claims to be an agent of Jumah is alleging that his camp were being frustrated by certain elements they believe are doing the bidding of Madam Patricia Apiagyei, the other contestant.
He told Kasapafmonline.com that the machinations started early morning when he was denied access to the election venue for not having accreditattion.
About 70 perecnt of the delegates he claims have also been denied their voting rights.
Kasapafmonline.com understands voting has been put on hold following the confusion. The Ashanti Regional Chair of the Party, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has arrived at the centre to restore order.
