The first ever Agricultural Fair for Senior High Schools in Ghana is to launch soon.

Planet One Multimedia, the country’s leading school-themed event organizers are putting together the Fair, which is targeted at all Senior High Schools in Ghana.

With backing from the Ministry of Agriculture, and the Ministry of Education, it is to push for greater participation in Agriculture at that level of education.

Agriculture is Ghana’s mainstay, and contributes to a substantial unit of its overall growth. While there have been calls for the youth to get into that space, it is increasingly becoming clear a lot of work has to be done in that regard.

CEO of Planet One Gilbert Boakye Nhyira says the idea is one dear to his organization.

“This is a project we are very much attached to. It is one we’ve held close in check for some time now. We cannot downplay the importance of Agriculture to the economy of every country.

“And for Ghana in particular, it is even more important that we pay attention to it. That is why we are putting together this fair.

“It is a way of encouraging active participation right from the early stages of these young students. If we are able to get it right at that level, it should resonate well with other age groups.”

Planet one has hit the ground running with the initiative, and has engaged key stakeholders including the schools, Nhyira adds.

Planet One Multimedia also organizes two of Ghana’s biggest high schools event Roll Kall, and Recognize, as well as other mainstream events.
