Agogo township is under siege as a 25-year-old farmer, David Atea, has been shot dead in his farm by Fulani herdsmen.

The deceased, David was shot in the chest after heated exchanges between him and the Fulani herdsmen.

He was alleged to have complained over a herdsman’s cattle invading his groundnut farm Tuesday which provoked the herdsman who angrily gunned him down.

The corpse has since been deposited at the Agogo Government hospital morgue for autopsy.

The suspected Fulani man is on the run.

This comes after the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Kwadwo Baah Agyemang a week ago led the youth of the area to demonstrate against the stay of the Fulani herdsmen in the Agogo enclave.

Locals are gripped with fear as the death toll to the gruesome murder by the nomads has hit 26 in the Agogo and the surrounding areas.

Women in particular say they are unable to go to their farms unaccompanied for fear of their lives.
