Late MP, J.B Danquah Adu

The one week memorial service of the death of the late Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North, JB Danquah Adu is set to be held Tuesday 16 February.

The event will come off at his family house in Akim Abuakwa North in the Eastern Region.

The former MP was gruesomely murdered at dawn on Tuesday February 9 at his home at Shiashie in Accra.

Police investigations showed he suffered two stab wounds, one to his rib, the other to his abdomen.

Five people including a security man, a driver and some others at the residence were later the same day picked up by the police to help with investigations.

The NPP had indicated that it suspected foul play in the murder. A team of investigators, acting upon a tip-off, arrested the suspect.

Speaking to Kasapa News, sister of the slain legislator, Abena Acheampomaa disclosed that since many sympathizers may not be able to attend tomorrow’s event at Abukwa North, another one will be held at Hon. J.B Danquah’s Shiashie residence in Accra for such persons to express their condolences.

She added that a date for the final funeral rites and burial will be set after tomorrow’s event where a consensus is expected to be reached.
