As the Accra version of the one week memorial celebration of the murdered Member of Parliament for Abukwa North J.B Danquah Adu took place on Thursday, many of his loved ones and family members expressed their grief in several ways.
While some chose to be quiet and brood over their loss, others reigned curses on whoever conspired and killed the affable MP.
Kasapa FM’s investigative reporter Kweku Opare Adesuokor who was present at the event reported that the aggrieved persons demanded that the dreaded gods in the Akim Abuakwa North area deal ruthlessly with the perpetrators who have painfully robbed them of a generous man like the late Hon. J.B Danquah.
Joseph Boakye Danqua-Adu died in his East Legon residence in Accra after he was stabbed by an alleged thief while sleeping. The police have leveled charges against a 19-year-old teenager Daniel Asiedu who has claimed responsibility for the murder.
The Vice President who joined family and friends to mark the first week of his passing in Accra said “Ghana is the loser” of the tragic incident.
“This is one crime that is impossible to explain, the motive is lost to almost everybody. All we know is that it has terminated the life of a promising man. A career has been cut short. Ghana is the loser,” Mr. Amissah-Arthur wrote in a tribute.
Other dignitaries including the flagbearer of the opposition NPP Nana Akufo-Addo and his running mate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia attended the ceremony.
