The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) will hold primaries for the vacant Talensi seat on June 21.
The decision comes hours after the ruling NDC announced the same date to hold their primaries.
The seat became vacant after the sitting MP Robert Nachinab Doameng Mosoore was enskined chief of the Tolon traditional area.
The Electoral Commission has set July 7 as date for the elections.
