Ghana midfielder Hiram Boateng scored for Crystal Palace’s under-21 side as they defeated Brentford 2-1 in their latest under 21 professional development league two match.

Goals from Randell Williams and Boateng earned the Eagles’ under-21 side a deserved point at Griffin Park as their recent return to form in the development league continued.

Brentford took the lead after Hogan finished off a good team-work play from Herson Rodriguez Alves and Reece Cole.

Luke Dreher responded by dragging a shot fractions wide of the far post, but on 20 minutes the Eagles found an equaliser when Jason Lokilo put a cross into the area which was nodded into the top corner by Williams who scored for the third game in succession.

And just minutes later the visitors got themselves in front in spectacular fashion. After winning a free-kick on the left, Williams whipped it into the box where Boateng met it with a fierce volley that flew past Jack Bonham to turn the game around.

Boateng made his Premier League debut for Crystal Palace’s senior team in their 1-1 awayd draw at Swnasea.

He had spent the earlier part of the campaign on loan at League Two side Plymouth Argyle, before an ankle ligament forced him to cut that spell short.

Boateng has since returned to his parent club and with them suffering something of an injury crisis themselves, has been used as a substitute by manager Alan Pardew in their last two games.
