The Acting Director of the Information Services Department, Francis Kwarteng Arthur, has been sacked.

A statement signed in Accra by Communications Minister, Edward Omane Boamah, said Kwarteng has been relieved of his duties at the state-owned outfit, which has been in the news all week.

The sack comes few days after the ISD got embroiled in a messy controversy surrounding the publication of the brochure used for Ghana’s 59th Independence Anniversary celebrations.

This week, Kwarteng took a lot of flak from the ISD staff who claimed he had betrayed them after he apologized for the errors in the brochure, a posture the workers say was not necessary since there were not responsible for it.
