Dozens of apartments have been gutted by fire at Baatsona near the Ecobank branch in Accra.
The inferno is believed to have been sparked by machines of a Chinese company in the area.
An eye witness, Kwesi Appiah who spoke to Kasapa News reported that victims of the fire are running helter skelter for their lives and trying to salvage their property.
The fire is fast spreading and eye witnesses fear it may spread much further as they fire service are finding it difficult to douse the fire.
He said no casualties have been recorded yet. The police are at the scene to control the swelling crowd that has besieged the fire scene.
