A high court in Ho has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of Water Resources Minister, Kwaku Agyemang-Mensah.
The Inspector General of Police has been ordered to cause his arrest to appear before it on April 15. He’s said to have failed on several occasion to come before the court.
The Minister was sued by two individuals, Zikpuitor Fenu Benjamin Atsu and Marshall Koblah Fenu over the Ada Sea Defence Project, which they claimed has destroyed their land and property.
An application by the two plaintiffs cited him for contempt after an order by the court for the ministry to remedy the problem was not heeded.
Two other individuals- acting as supervisors have also been joined to the suit to respond to the charges against the Ministry.
The project, expected to be completed by the end of this year is to implement a system for the coastline to have a buffer against attacks by the ocean waves.
