The Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) has freed Captain (rtd) Edmund Koda, the head of the private security detail for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo.

He has been on detention at BNI cell since Thursday for allegedly being involved in the invitation of three South African ex-police officers who were to train security personnel of Nana Akufo Addo and is running mate Dr Mahamadu Bawumia in various military drills.

Kasapa FM’s impeccable sources at the intelligence agency indicate that Capt Koda, who was struck by illness while in custody, was released Easter Monday.

He was re-arrested on Thursday after charges of unlawful training and conspiracy to commit crime against him were dropped.

His Weija residence was reportedly raided by national security operatives.
