The Ashanti Regional New Patriotic Party(NPP) and its allied pressure groups have planned a massive demonstration to rekindle the fight for a new voters register ahead of the November polls.
At a Press conference organized in Kumasi, the NPP parliamentary candidate for Asawase constituency, Alhaji Alidu Seidu who is leading the crucial campaign against the EC and government, bemoaned the crisis in which Ghana finds itself and the threat the country’s democracy faces, hence the need for their protest to salvage the situation.
He’s asked all patriotic citizens and the general public to join the demonstration billed to correct the wrongs ahead of the elections.
The demonstration which is code-named #Baamu Yaada is set for Wednesday, April 6, 2016 .
The VCRAC Crabbe Committee suggested to the EC to conduct a voter validation to give the election process a clean deal but the Commission has been dodgy on the clear procedures to roll-out such plan.
