Veteran Journalist and Social Commentator, Kwasi Pratt Jnr has urged the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) to play the audio recording of the interrogation session of Captain (rtd) Edmund Koda, head of Security detail of NPP Flag bearer Nana Akufo Addo.

According him, the airing of the tape is the only way the truth can be established in exactly what ex military officer told the BNI when he was arrested for his role in bringing three South African ex police officers to train security detail of Nana Akufo Addo in various military drills.

Government has indicated that Captain (rtd) Edmund Koda conceded that he aired in his failure to process some documents in connection with the 3 South Africans who have since been deported to the country, adding that upon hindsight he would have done things differently if he had another chance.

However the former member of the military junta, Armed Forces Revolutionary Council, (AFRC) which was the government of Ghana from June 4, 1979 to September 24, 1979 has said he never made any such admissions.

He wants the public to disregard any such claims by government and the ruling party officials.

However speaking on Peace FM Friday, Kwasi Pratt stated that it was important that the facts and truth of the case must be established once and for all.

“If it’s possible the interrogation of Capt. Koda while he was in BNI custody if it will not disturb any other thing must be played to the hearing of the public. Because there are some issues about the matter which can only be resolved when the original tapes are played.

“For example what Captain Koda is alleged to have admitted and said and what he did not admit and say will be settled once and for all if the tape was played. The BNI has said Captain Koda admitted he erred and upon hindsight he would have done things differently. He is supposed to have said one thing and government is also saying another, the only way to establish the truth is for the recording to be played period.”
