Ghanaian Broadcast journalist Nana Aba Anamoah and lawyer/TV host Sandra Ankobiah were unveiled as ambassadors for women football in Ghana at a ceremony  at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra, on Thursday.
The appointment by the Sports Ministry aims to increase awareness for women’s football  in Ghana, as well to raise fund to support the sports.
Nana Aba Anamoah and Sandra Ankobiah will be working in tandem to raise the profile of the national women’s teams in Ghana, using their star power.
They are expected to get to work immediately in raising not only funds but enthusiasm ahead of the Africa Women championship to be staged in Cameroon later this year.

Minister of Youth and Sports Nii Lantey Vanderpuye told the Press: “We have not set a target for the ladies, in fact, we need more money because the more they bring in the more they get.”

“And let me say this, that anyone interested in also raising funds should come forward and my doors are always opened to such ideas.”
