A group of old men and women numbering about twenty have hit some streets in the Ashanti Region to demostrate against the prevailing power crisis.

Kasapa FM’s Ashanti Regional correspondent, Justice Isaac Bediako said the demonstrators started their exercise from the Kumasi Cultural Centre.

They told Bediako, who reported live on Anopa Kasapa that the worsening power crisis continue to affect their businesses, and has impacted negatively on their livelihood.

The demonstration is set to get the attention of President Mahama to fix the situation, they say.

“We the aged are upset with the hardship the ‘dumsor’ is having on [our] society, most especially the senior citizens, who are gravely affected with the situation because we’re indefensive of the situation.”

“We cannot count on our children to fend for us because the Dumsor have destroyed their businesses,” one of the demonstrators told host Fiifi Banson.
