The Minister for Tourism, Creative Arts, Honourable Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare has launched the 3rd edition of Ghana Street Carnival at the Coconut Grove Regency Hotel, Accra.

The programme is scheduled to take place from July 1 to 3, 2016 with a float from Obra Spot at the Kwame Nkrumah Interchange through the principal streets in Accra to the independence Square for the exhibition and sale of Made-in-Ghana goods.

This year’s Carnival, which is on the theme: ‘My Culture Rocks,’ will witness performances by music and dance groups and individuals.

She mentioned that the annual festival will afford creative arts practitioners the platform to showcase their potential in respect of costume designing, dance choreography, music composition, art and design.

According to the sector minister, celebrities from the movie, Music and other creative arts industry will feature in most of the event to help expose Ghanaians to the numerous tourist attractions in the country.

“Our celebrities have a huge following on the social media terrain, and their tweets from their visits to our tourist sites will generate positive reactions from the local population.”

Radio personality, Abeiku Aggrey Santana was the newest celebrity to be added to the list of Ghana’s Tourism Ambassadors.

This announcement was made by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts at the launch of the upcoming 3rd Ghana Carnival.

Abeiku Santana joins actor John Dumelo and child actor Abraham Attah as Ghana’s Ambassadors of Tourism.
