A Labour Expert, Mr Y. B Amponsah wants government to urgently iron out any outstanding issue it has with the Ghana Medical Association(GMA) before they go on their July, 1 en bloc resignation.

Amponsah has warned that the new approach to labor agitation was regrettable hence the need to make  possible resolution to stop what he says is a sad development.

The Association meets today to make known  their position on the framework document to the Ministry of Health concerning their conditions of service.

But Mr Amponsah argues that it will be in the country’s interest for government to reach a deal with the GMA to stop any further mess from being created.

He told Fiifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.3 FM:

“Government has delayed badly on this……..if you’re serious to deal with this it shouldn’t even take you six months to solve it.”

“This is a straightforward approach, there’s no need for such thing……..is a delay tactic.”

The Ghana Medical Association (GMA) has given the Ministry of Health a one-week ultimatum to provide its members with better conditions of service.

The Association says its members will be left with no other option than to resign en masse if the deadline is not met.
