A former coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Abdul Karim Zito has bemoaned what he says is the club’s refusal to adopt international best practices.
Zito, who currently manages lower Division side Bibiani Gold Stars has told Kasapa FM the club’s recent domestic and continental poor form is due to a poor administrative decision not to stick to a decent player transfer and recruitment plan.
“Kotoko’s structure is messed up. We are still living in stone age, adopting old systems and ways of doing things.
“If the year ends and you bring in seven players and after the season you sack the players and bring in another badge, you will definitely suffer. There is no orderliness,” he told Tony Adam Adjei on Dwedwamu.
Zito, who was in charge of Kotoko’s youth development at a point said the club can’t achieve anything substantial if the issue is not attended to.
“If they don’t look for a way to end this and they keep screaming Africa Africa, i swear they will suffer. Recruiting and selling players in bits and stalls preparations
“The style we use in preparing for Africa has outmoded. The problem is not the players, neither is it Duncan or Opoku Nti.”
