The Paternal family of Daasebre Gyamenah’s has rejected to bury the late musician in line with Islamic tradition hours after he died.

The Kokooko singer’s Maternal family who are Muslims have demanded that the late musician be buried as the Islamic custom demand since he’s Muslim but his father’s family are in a total disagreement with them.

Daasebre Gyamena’s family earlier Friday stated that they will not allow the late musician to be buried in line with Islamic tradition because he comes from a royal family within the New Juaben Traditional Area, hence needs a befitting burial.

“We can’t bury him just like that. Do they know why we call him ‘Daasebre’? This is because he is from a royal family in the New Juaben Traditional Area, earning him the name Daasebre Kojo Gyamenah,” a family member said.

The remains of the musician, according to the family has been deposited at the St. Joseph Hospital in the Eastern Regional Capital – Koforidua awaiting funeral arrangement.
