The 21-year-old Ghanaian completed his loan move from Chelsea on Monday after passing his medical with the club on Sunday.

“Abdul is a strong attacking left back, one who I have a lot of faith in. He will fit in well here because of his excellent attitude,” explained Markus Weinzierl, who has already worked with him at FC Augsburg.

The 22-year-old spent the 2014/15 season with FCA, following a stint with SpVgg Greuther Fürth. He has played 51 Bundesliga games to date (0 goals), in addition to 24 second-tier matches (2 goals).

In August 2015 he signed a five-year deal with Chelsea. Last season he made 15 Premier League appearances for the Blues. He also featured twice in the FA Cup and four times in the Champions League.

His career started in 2004 with the Young Meteors Tamale, before spells with Dreamz FC (2010-2011) and Asante Kotoko (2011-2012), with whom he won Ghana’s national title in 2012. He was part of the Ghana side that reached the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations final, however, they missed out on the title, losing to Ivory Coast on penalties.
