Russia has advanced talks with Ghana to work out plans of developing the country’s gas industry.

A meeting of Ghana’s Energy Ministry and Russian energy giants Gazprom to look at the way forward within the context of former’s Gas Master Plan has been held.

The two Ministers handling the Petroleum sector of both countries have pledged to continue facilitating the cooperation between Ghanaian and Russian companies in the area of energy and petroleum.

Both Ministers met at the Russian Ministry of Energy to discuss possible ways of meeting the provisions of the two countries’ Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Co-operation.

Mr Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, Ghana’s Petroleum Minister was joined on the visit  by some state officials including Alexander Mould, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation; Theophilus Ahwireng, CEO of the Petroleum Commission, and Dr. Kodzo K. Alabo, Ghana’s Ambassador to Russia.
