The Progressive People’s Party (PPP) is alarmed the crucial elections slated for December 7, 2016 could be easily rigged following the mysterious stealing of the PPP booklet, which is taking signatures to compel President John Mahama against freeing the Montie 3 contemnors.

The PPP’s Communications Director, Papa Kow Ackon who was scandalised by the incident Tuesday told Fiifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.5 FM that the system is not safe in respect of the upcoming polls, judging by what has befallen the PPP.

“Why should this happened? Just because some NDC foot soldiers have petitioned President John Mahama that he should exercise his Prerogative Right of Mercy caprociously, and in the view of the PPP we feel that ought not to be done, we should be object of attack on that score? For some people to suggest to us that by their act we can’t trust them that means we are not safe.” Ackon insisted.

The book, which had about 1,700 signatures yet to be handed over to the President, is believed to have been stolen by three young men who had pretended they were also signing the booklet at the PPP’s headquarters.

The two other booklets, which were also being signed, have about 1,000 signatures according to the PPP’s Communications Director, Papa Kow Ackon.

The booklet was meant to take signatures to compel President John Mahama against freeing the Montie 3 contemnors.

The three, Godwin Ako Gunn, Alistair Nelson and Maase Salifu, were jailed four-months for criminal contempt of the Supreme Court after threatening the lives of Justices.
