Ghanaian footballer Asamoah Gyan says he is hopeful of the return of his missing musician friend Castro.

In a statement issued by his office, Gyan, who is joining China’s Shangai SIPG in the next few hours from UAE’s Al Ain for a 350, 000 dollar-a-week deal said “concerted efforts to find the missing duo have since not yielded any positive results but close friends and relations of Castro and Janet Bandu remain hopeful of their return.”

Friends and Families of Theophilus Tagoe (alias Castro) and Janet Bandu remain hopeful of the return of the duo a year on after their disappearance.

Both went missing while holidaying at a resort in Ada exactly a year ago.

Concerted efforts to find the missing duo have since not yielded any positive results but close friends and relations of Castro and Janet Bandu remain hopeful of their return.

“It has been a year of prayer and keeping hopes alive. We still pray for strength and fortitude for the Police and all related agencies as they continue the search,” Samuel Anim Addo said on behalf of the Asamoah Gyan and friends.

“We pray for strength for the affected families. We pray for good news. Amen.”
