Capital Bank has introduced ‘SpeedPay’, a money voucher which allows Capital Bank account holders, to conveniently deposit funds into their account through their mobile phones.
The ‘SpeedPay’, can also be used to make online payments by both customers and non customers of the bank.
In order to make the service easy and accessible to all, the bank has partnered Allied Oil to sell the money vouchers at all their fuel stations in Accra.
Speaking to Kasapa News at the bank’s head office in Accra, the Head of Retail Banking, Eunice Brocke said the partnership will help grow both businesses and also make both brands one of the strongest and attractive in the banking and the upstream oil industry respectively.
She indicated that ‘SpeedPay’, previously called ‘Speedbanking’ was developed and introduced in 2011, to facilitate cash deposit into customer’s savings and current accounts.
Eunice Brocke said the bank currently has 35 distributors of ‘SpeedPay’ card that makes it possible for customers to undertake electronic transactions across the country.
“Our partnership with Allied Oil will increase the distribution channels of our flagship product to 51. Our strategy is to further increase the distribution channels to over a 100 by the end of the year”, she added.
The Chief Executive Officer of Capital Bank, Mr. Fitzgerald Odonkor also said the bank is currently deploying over thirty eight (38) sophisticated ATMs, that will allow customers to do interbank and intrabank funds transfer from their Capital Bank account to any bank through the ‘Ghana Instant Pay Platform’ and also through the bank’s platform.
He further indicated that the bank has also partnered Opportunity International Savings and Loans, to make Capital Bank’s money transfer solutions available in a total of about 60 outlets made up of Opportunity International’s 42 outlets and Capital Bank’s 18 branches.
Mr. Odonkor said the decision to partner Allied oil was not only informed by the bank’s decision to practically extend its banking hours, but was largely driven by a desire to partner an ambitious Ghanaian brand that places on innovative customer –focused solutions.
He congratulated the staff of Capital Bank for being awarded the 25th best performing company and the 8th best performing bank at the recently held Ghana Club 100 Awards.
