
Managers of popular recreational facility in Kumasi in the Ashanti region have denied claims that the centre has been shut down by officials of the Ghana Revenue Authority for non-payment of taxes.
Management of the facility announced via Facebook that media reports on the incidence Friday were “grossly exaggerated” and that they[management] are earnestly addressing issues with authorities of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly – Owners and Operators of the centre.
Several news hubs reported Friday that the facility was closed down by officials of the Internal Revenue Service of the Ghana Revenue Authority(GRA) due to non-payment of taxes by managers of the facility.
The $4.4-million facility is touted to be one stop venue for recreation in the garden city-Kumasi and it is said to be the biggest in the West African sub-region.
The centre remains a brain child of former Mayor of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly- Kojo Bonsu who was recently removed from office over some skirmishes that visited the Assembly.
