Street Children Empowerment Foundation (SCEF), a  Non Governmental Organisation has awarded scholarship to 150 pupils from various schools in Accra precisely James Town.

The pupils were supplied with basic school materials such as pencils, pens, erasers, school bags, sharpeners, text books, casio calculators, school uniforms, shoes and mathematical sets.

The items were presented to the pupils at this year’s “Back to School/Supplies for Dreams”, event which was organized at SCEF’s learning hub in Accra.

It was on the theme; “Access to quality and affordable education, the surest way to a brighter future”.

Speaking to Kasapa News, the Founder of SCEF, Paul Semeh said the main objective of the event is to prepare the scholarship recipients for the 2016/2017 school calendar year.

He indicated that the event forms part of SCEF’s priority areas, to ensuring that children irrespective of their social disparities have equal access to quality and affordable education.

The event was well attended by all the scholarship recipients and their parents, some celebrities and representatives from some corporate institutions.
