Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide Newspaper, Kweku Baako Jnr, has said Vice President P.K Ammisah-Arthur has reduced himself into a level of a serial caller with his kind of politicking in recent times.

According to him, the Veep must elevate his way of doing politics by way of his communication to avoid being drugged into the gutter by his political opponents.

Vice president Amissah-Arthur during his tour of the Ashanti Region last week urged NDC supporters to be vigilant as some opponents of the party are plotting to rig this year’s presidential and parliamentary elections on December 7.

“I will urge all of you to be extra vigilant. NDC needs help. On December 7, some people will try to cheat the NDC. Be very vigilant to ensure no one succeeds in cheating us,” he told party supporters at Asawase.

In a response to the Veep’s comment, Flag bearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Akufo Addo during his tour of the Ablekuma West constituency in Accra on Tuesday, stated it was rather President Mahama and his Vice Amissah-Arthur who have copyright to rigging elections in Ghana.

Speaking on Peace FM’s Kokokroo show on Wednesday, veteran Journalist, Kweku Baako Jnr noted that Veep Amissah Arthur who he describes as a fine gentleman and has immense respect for, by putting out such baseless allegation opens himself up for needless attack on him.

“What is this thing from Vice President Amissah-Arthur…he’s my friend and I respect him a lot. He’s level headed and very calm, he’s a gentleman and there’s no doubt about it. Very cultured and educated but this thing about rigging, where did he get it from. When one mounts the political platform, the person’s real self gets lost and he/she gets into an entirely different mode. If I’m to analyze such a person I struggle, so if he’s listening to us he should calm done on his comments before he’s drugged into the gutter.”

He added: “There are serious issues out there that must be raised and marketed to the electorates. If it serial callers making the baseless allegation by the Vice President, I will understand. But if a whole Vice President will descend low to a level of a serial caller, then it is very worrying. What I’m saying about him is so weighty that I can’t freely say it. I just don’t understand it, to be honest this is a note of caution. Some of us respects him so he should stop making such comments. Like the one that he asked for someone in a crowd of supporters to be lifted because short people cannot see Mahama’s achievement which we were later told was a joke. I’m a typical Fante, and I enjoy jokes and can perform comedies, but at certain stages comedy turns into a tragedy, so the big men should know how to handle themselves.”
