A resolve of  the disruption of gas supplies in the offshore Jubilee field operated by Tullow Oil may take a longer period than expected, officials say.

They are however not sure when gas will be restored to the Ghana National Gas Company but operators working hard to ensure the problem is fixed say it needs a minimum of  one week to ascertain the cause of the disruption.

Gas supplies were cut on July 3 that led to the state-run Ghana Gas Company shutting down its Atuabo gas processing plant.

“Tullow has given us information that suggests that they expect to be able to identify and rectify the challenges they face within a period of a week upwards. In other words we are looking at a week upwards depending on the level of the problem,” Corporate Affairs Manager of Ghana Gas, Alfred Ogbamey says.
