The 2016 Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo, says nothing will ever stop him continuing to beg Ghanaians for their votes of  in the upcoming general elections.

According to the opposition leader, this year’s Presidential elections makes it the third in a row he is contesting for the highest office of the land and believes that it only the electorates that can decide whom to entrust the management of the country into his or her care.

He said events in the last two previous elections coupled with President Mahama’s recent bashing that he (Akufo-Addo) is always begging for votes will not deter him from seeking the mandate of the people to govern the nation.

“I have come before you to plead that you help me win power. In 2008 I nearly won. In 2012 you all know what happened. This is the third time that I am seeking for power and I need your help to enable me ascend to the throne. Help me to get there and when I get there I will be decorous in my dealings with you,” he pleaded.

He added “Power resides in you and so I will continue to come to you and plead for your support until you give me a helping hand.”

Akufo-Addo made this observation when he stormed Katamanto Market Tuesday afternoon to interact with the traders and hawkers and to also seek for their mandate in the upcoming general elections.

The visit was part of his four days tour to the Greater Accra Region.

Addressing the people further, the former Attorney-General promised to impact his God-given knowledge on the country, believing that with him in the helm of affairs of the country, living standards will be improved.

“I will not go there to steal your money and put it in my pocket. I am going there to work to ensure that the knowledge that God has given to me I will impact it on Ghana to ensure that living standards are improved. We are sitting on money, yet we are hungry. We are coming to change all these things,” he emphasized.
