The final funeral rites of former coach of Accra Hearts of Oak Jones Attuquayefio will be held in Accra on July 24, his family has said.
The family made the announcement when they paid a formal visit to Ghana’s presidency to announce his death to President John Dramani Mahama.
“For many years, there had been doubts about the capacity of local coaches to handle the national teams. Jones is one of the people who made mince meat of that myth,” Mahama said of Jones.
Attuquayefio, a former Ghana forward passed away on Tuesday, 12 May 2015 at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra. He battled a prolonged throat cancer.
He was 70.
